Family Fun in February

The first half of February has been so much fun--except for the fact that I feel huge.  I appreciate that lots of people tell me that I'm cute when I'm pregnant.  Truth be told, I agree.  I never feel like a whale when I look at myself in the mirror--just when I roll over in bed or try to pick something up off the floor.  Today I am exactly three weeks away from my due date, which is exciting to me.  I can't wait to meet this baby girl.  However, at my appointment yesterday, the doctor told me that I'm not dilated at all.  So I'm not holding my breath that this baby girl will come before her due date.

Anyway, the first Saturday in February we went up to Salt Lake to support Matt as he participated in the Polar Plunge on behalf of Special Olympics Utah.  His jump was very smooth, and by smooth, I mean cool, not splash-less.  Before the actual jump we ate some pastries and looked at the fireplace inside the Sheraton Hotel.   The Sheraton Hotel is so good to host the event every year.

Reagan and Kirsten loved the fireplace

The Fire Department was a bit late.  So, they had the Plungers dance around the pool for awhile.

Matt jumped in like such a cool dude.

That's Matt in the tight t-shirt.  If you jumped in twice, some company (can't remember which) donated more money to the cause.

After Matt changed, we walked over to the City Creek Center to play, look at the fish, and eat.  It was a pretty long walk for a pregnant lady, but still fun.

After eating lunch, we walked back to our car, and everyone except Matt fell asleep on the drive home.  That felt nice.

On Thursday of that week, we all went over to the Provo Towne Center together.  The girls played in the play area, we ate dinner at the food court, and then we went to watch A Dog's Purpose, which Matt and I absolutely loved.  Kirsten liked it a lot, too, but I think it was a bit much for Reagan.  She loved seeing the doggies, but it seemed too complex for her to understand, which is normal for a four year old.  Since seeing the movie I've read the book, and I have fallen in love with Porter on a deeper level.  He seems to appreciate the added attention.

Last week it warmed up a bit, and the girls and I walked over to the Springville City Park with Porter.  Surprise!  Surprise!  Matt showed up on his motorcycle.  It was so pleasant to spend time in the sun with the whole family.  While we were there, everyone tried on Matt's motorcycle helmet--including Porter.

On Friday we went to the Family Valentine's Dance at the Springville Library.  It was so much fun to go to the dance.  We all danced together, but I didn't mind taking breaks to take pictures of the girls dancing with their daddy.

It's a bit blurry, but if you look close, you can see how much they adore each other.

We also ran into some of our friends from Church.  Gracie, Reagan's friend from Sunbeams, was there with her mom and dad.  The girls danced together.  So, Matt and I even got the chance to dance with just each other for a bit.

Like clockwork, at 7:20, the girls laid down on the floor in a heap of exhaustion.  At that point, we took them home and put them to bed.

On Saturday morning, the girls and I went to help clean the church.  The last time I signed our family up to help, Reagan got sick.  So, we couldn't go.  I figured it would be a good idea to do our part before the baby is born, when I really won't feel like cleaning the church.  We got there a bit late.  So, most of the big jobs were taken, but we got to help set up the chairs in the Primary Room and straighten the hymnbooks in the chapel.  The girls enjoyed being involved in cleaning the rooms that they use the most.  Kirsten even said, "Cleaning is actually kind of fun."  I didn't mention to her that we weren't actually cleaning, and honestly, I didn't mind that someone else had already scrubbed the toilets.

That afternoon, thanks to Matt, I was able to go out with my mom for lunch and to buy some last minute things for Valentine's Day, my nephew's birthday, and the baby.  It was so nice to spend a couple of hours with my mom without the girls.  We don't get to do that very often.

When I got home, the girls and I did a bunch of puzzles together.  That was fun.

We finished all the puzzles!
On Sunday we went to my brother's house to celebrate William's birthday and my dad's birthday.  I was too lazy to get up to get my phone to take pictures.  Actually, I shouldn't say that I was lazy.  I was just plain exhausted.  But it was still a very nice time.  I enjoyed chatting with everyone.

On Monday we met our friends at the Orem Mall.  The kids played in the play area, which is much more extensive than the one in Provo, and then we got a treat at TCBY.  It was yummy!  I loved seeing Jennie and her kiddos.

After the kids finished their treats, they formed a train with their chairs.  It was empty enough in the food court that they were even able to move the train around quite a bit.  So clever.

Well, this is probably my last post before the baby comes.  So, look forward to cute pictures of baby Madelyn!
